It was four years ago Friday that someone shot and killed two Weleetka girls -- 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker and 13-year-old Taylor Paschal Placker.

The girls were found shot to death on June 8, 2008, along a rural Okfuskee County road.

The friends were shot 13 times with two different guns.

Shell casings from another murder linked Kevin Sweat to the killings.

A judge will decide later this year whether there's enough evidence to try Sweat for murder.

Sweat already knows he'll be put on trial for first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Ashley Taylor.

Investigators do not believe the murders are related.
