Muskogee Man Charged With Beating That Led To Miscarriage

A Muskogee man has been charged with hitting his pregnant girlfriend so hard she lost her baby.

Ricky Ray Gaffney II, 32, is in the Muskogee County jail on charges of domestic assault and battery against a pregnant woman causing a miscarriage and obstructing an officer.

Gaffney was arrested May 19, 2012 by Muskogee Police.  He was charged on Tuesday. 

Court records say Gaffney hit his girlfriend in the head, chest and abdomen.  A doctor told police the woman had a miscarriage because of the beating.

Gaffney is being held without bond until a June 5, 2012 court hearing.
