The Tulsa Drillers' recent struggles continued Saturday, falling to Springfield 1-0 Saturday, kept in check by the Cardinals' pitching staff.

Springfield starter Michael Blazek (2-4) started the game off strong, giving up just two hits and striking out five in his four innings of service. Nick Schmidt (2-2) was equally as solid from the mound, pitching seven innings, giving up one earned run on seven hits and striking out seven in the loss.

The only run of the game came in the bottom of the sixth, on a two-out solo home run from Kolten Wong over the center field wall to take a 1-0 lead.

Tulsa will try to reverse its fortunes at 2:08 p.m. Sunday in the third of the four-game series against the Cardinals.
