For the first time in the history of the Port of Catoosa total shipping at the port for the first four months of the year topped 1,000,000 tons.

"It is impressive that the Port's shipping totals have exceeded one million tons this early in the year," said David Page, Chairman of the City of Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority.

Page says the 1-million ton mark is normally not reached until June, but says with increasing activity in the energy market, he expects those shipping numbers to remain high.

Shipments of crude oil, more than 319,000 barrels in April, have increased monthly since the Port of Catoosa started its first shipment last summer.
