Plane Crash Victim, Oklahoma Marine Remembered During Funeral In Enid

Austin Anderson who died from injuries sustained in an airplane crash near Chanute, Kansas was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon.

One of four people killed Friday, May 11, 2012 when their airplane, a twin-engine Cessna 40 crashed near Chanute, Kansas was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon.

Austin Anderson, who was 27, had joined the Marine Corps after graduating from Ringwood High School and served two tours in Iraq before graduating earlier this month from Oral Roberts University.

Anderson, who is from Enid survived the fiery plane crash Friday but died of his injuries at a Wichita hospital on Saturday.

Besides his fiancee, Elizabeth Thaxton, Anderson left behind a mother, brother and sister.

His funeral was Wednesday afternoon at Emanuel Baptist Church in Enid.
