TULSA, Oklahoma – ORU not only finished off a sweep of struggling Mississippi Valley State on Sunday, but they also did it in style.

The Golden Eagles used an 11-run eighth inning to cruise to a 20-4 win against the Delta Devils, putting up some ridiculous stats in the process.

Oral Roberts racked up 17 hits in the contest and some players found themselves at the plate seven times during the game.

The game was somewhat normal through the first eight innings, even though the Golden Eagles were thoroughly in control with a 9-4 lead.

But the Golden Eagles batted around the order in the bottom of the eighth and then some, sending a total of 16 batters to the plate in the inning.

Every ORU batter picked up at least one hit in the game. Cam Schiller led the Golden Eagles offensively with four hits, and Brandon King racked up a whopping six RBIs in the game.

Chris Broadway got the loss for the Delta Devils, giving up seven runs in his 3.1 innings. Meanwhile, Kurt Giller picked up the win for ORU. He threw five innings and gave up six hits and four runs.

After the sweep, Oral Roberts will hit the road for a series against IPFW. Game one of the series is set for 3 p.m. Friday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
