OSU Baseball Player, Three Others Charged In Drug Case

Gabe Weidenaar and three others have been charged after police and the post office intercepted four packages of marijuana worth an estimated $70,000.

Oklahoma State senior baseball player Gabe Weidenaar and three others have been charged after getting arrested on April 26 on possession of marijuana with intent to distribute complaints.

Weidenaar has been charged with three felony counts and a misdemeanor count. The felony counts include one unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school, one conspiracy to commit a felony and one possession of CDS without tax stamp.

He received one misdemeanor count for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Weidenaar entered a plea of not guilty on Monday.

Weidenaar, along with Ryan Large, Austin Yoder and Jarrod Fields were all arrested Thursday. According to police, Weidenaar, Yoder and Fields were arrested at Weidenaar's residence located in the 100 block of South Payne St., while Large was arrested at his house located in the 4800 block of N. Britton Road, also in Stillwater.

Stillwater Police and the Post Office intercepted four packages of the drug worth an estimated $70,000.

Yoder and Fields were also charged on Monday.

Yoder received one misdemeanor count for possession of marijuana and Fields received two misdemeanor counts: one for possession of marijuana and one for possession of paraphernalia.

The fourth person involved in the case, Ryan Large, was also charged Monday with two felony counts and one misdemeanor.

Large received felony counts for unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of controlled drug without tax stamp. He received one misdemeanor count for possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Stillwater Police Department detective Kyle Bruce, the Post Office intercepted four packages bound for two different addresses in Stillwater. The suspicious boxes were opened and contained two pounds of marijuana equaling a total of eight pounds of the drug.

The Post Office contacted the Stillwater Police department about the deliveries and on Thursday April 26 around 10 a.m. the postal inspector performed two controlled deliveries of the boxes to the residence of Weidenaar and Large.

Upon the arrival of the boxes, Weidenaar and Large were arrested on felony complaints of marijuana possession with intent to distribute.

Fields was on the Cowboy football team's roster last season, while Police state that Yoder is Weidenaar's girlfriend.

The Oklahoma State baseball team has not commented on Weidenaar's arrest. The Cowboys are preparing for a three-game Bedlam series this weekend.
