The woman shot by Tulsa police last week is suing the city and the two officers.
Maria de Lourdes Vazquez Hernandez claims in the lawsuit that officers stopped her because she is Hispanic and that her language barrier was obvious.
It says she was shot once in the arm, then twice more in the stomach while she was on the ground, even though she didn't have a gun.

Police say they got a call about a woman with a gun and that's why they contacted her. They say they gave her repeated instructions in both English and Spanish and when asked if she had a gun, she answered, "yes, what does it matter?"
Police say she was never shot while on the ground and expect her to be arrested once she's out of the hospital.
