Driver Killed After His Semi Crashes Into Tree, Catches Fire On I-40

The crash took place in Okmulgee County just west of mile-marker 238.

An Arkansas man is dead after the semi he was driving struck a tree and the cab caught fire.

At 11:23 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate-40, just west of mile-marker 238 in Okmulgee County, Lewis Ragan of Van Buren, Ark., left the roadway to the right and struck the tree, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Ragan, who was driving a 2000 Peterbilt, was not wearing a seat belt, according to the trooper's report.

The cause of the crash is listed as unknown.
