TULSA, Oklahoma – Without a doubt, one of the biggest questions for the Golden Hurricane heading into the 2012 season is who will start at quarterback.

That's why at Saturday's annual Tulsa Spring Football Game, all eyes were on Cody Green and Kalen Henderson in a 42-0 victory for the Blue Team over the Gold Team.

Though coach Bill Blankenship said Henderson has had some solid scrimmages recently, it was Green's turn to show his stuff on Saturday.

He went 8-for-9 on the day with three touchdowns while Kalen Henderson registered 8-of-14 for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Blankenship said he thought the team moved the ball efficiently on offense during the game.

"The guys we hoped would play well, played well," he said. "I was pleased to see Keyarris (Garrett) get his big run for a touchdown after the catch. He's a guy that can really help us spread the ball around with (Bryan Burnham) and Jordan (James), and that was a key to see him do it in a game situation."

Things got off to a quick start with Green leading the Blue Team to a 75-yard scoring drive. But the elements took over and the team sat out a 37-minute storm delay in the locker room.

After taking the field again, this time it was Henderson's turn as he marched his team to a touchdown, connecting on an 11-yard pass to Jordan James.

Every scoring drive except for one in the game was longer than 50 yards, including Green's 67-yard touchdown pass to Keyarris Garrett to make it 21-0.

Ja'Terian Douglas and Trey Watts both had touchdown runs in the game as well.

Blankenship said despite the weather issues and new formatting, he thought things went off well.

"I was pleased with the format of how it turned out," he said. "We got a little sidetracked with the weather early. We separated the teams where we had the first units working together, instead of working against each other for a change. I thought they were both very effective."

Blankenship said he isn't close to naming a starter for the quarterback position, but said he will let everyone involved know where they stand as practices progress.

TU opens the 2012 season on the road at Iowa State on Thursday, Aug. 30.
