A Tulsa father wants justice for his murdered son, but he can't get it as long as people are too afraid to tell the truth.

At least two people, and probably more, know what happened the night 27-year old Ahmad LeShawn Thompson was killed. But they're not talking.

Ahmad's nickname was Catfish and police say his death was based on a senseless set of circumstances. They say two of his brothers had gotten into an argument with some gang members at a bar a couple months earlier.

Catfish saw the men later and told them to stay away from his brothers. He was later murdered while driving through a parking lot. Police believe there's a connection.

Police say Catfish was driving through a parking lot at the River Bank Plaza apartments near 64th and South Peoria on March 18, 2011, when two men walked up to his driver's window and fired several shots inside.

His Explorer kept going forward until it hit a dumpster in the lot.

He leaves behind five children and a grieving father.

"Cat would help me do all the work here, or if I was at the house, just work, always there, ‘dad I'll do this, do that,"" said Cat's dad Emery Thompson.

Emery says the two brothers were there that night and are reluctant to tell police what they know. He says he understands fear, but says it's time for everyone who knows something to share it with police.

"We need to quit being so fearful and stand up for what is right for our people. It's going to keep happening until somebody comes forward and says, ‘I've had enough,'" Thompson said.

Thompson says Catfish was an outstanding athlete when he was a child, even setting a number of regional records when he competed in Junior Olympics.

Emery is a pastor and believes the wicked people behind this evil act will be punished with God, but he wants justice here on earth too and had this message for the killers:

"I'm not looking for you; I just want you to do what's right. Those involved in this, let them know they need to come forward."

Police say they just need a little more information to make an arrest in this case and hope people will call into Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
