Voters in several northeast Oklahoma communities went to the polls Tuesday to decide several bond issues, school board members and a state House of Representatives seat.
Bartlesville voters said no to two bond issues totaling $49 million. But three other Tulsa area school districts saw their bond measures pass.
Bartlesville Schools was looking to expand a few buildings in the district and construct a new school. It was also asking voters to fund transportation needs. But both measures failed Tuesday.

Oklahoma law requires school bond propositions to pass by a 60 percent super majority.
Union Public Schools are claiming victory Tuesday. Unofficial results show both propositions --totaling $19 million -- passed easily.
The district wants to expand tennis and swimming facilities and build a fine arts building at the Sixth/Seventh Grade Center, among other projects. It also wants to purchase 15 new school buses.

Voters said yes to a $5 million bond issue for Owasso Schools. The money would be used for technology upgrades, text and library books, buses and maintenance upgrades.

Jenks Schools will also get the go ahead after a $10 million bond issue passed there. The district will be using the money for new textbooks, maintenance items and transportation equipment.

Tulsa's District 71 house seat is up for grabs and Tuesday's election has Democrat Dan Arthrell running against Katie Henke.
