The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles capitalized on their scoring down low and turnovers by Jaguars Monday, knocking off IUPUI 67-55 to lock up a No. 2 seed in the Summit League Tournament.
The Golden Eagles were dominant in the painted area, scoring 34 of their 67 points from down low, compared to just 22 points from the Jaguars. Additionally, IUPUI had ball security issues, turning the ball over 26 times – including a combined 15 from guards Dawn Luster and Emily Phillips.
Kevi Luper set the pace for Oral Roberts, scoring a game-high 25 points, while recording five steals and two assists, while Bernadett Balla notched 10 points coming off of the bench for the Golden Eagles.
Kerah Nelson and Katie Comello both finished with 12 points in the loss, with Phillips adding in 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Jaguars.
Oral Roberts will going to take five days off before getting back in action, taking on IPFW at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
