The annual Buckledown Awards were given out Thursday to the best officers who keep us safe on the streets.
The award is given to the officers, deputies and troopers who are making the biggest difference, stopping speeders, catching drunk drivers and making sure children are buckled in their safety seats.
Police say these are the types of efforts that affect the safety of most citizens on a daily basis.
"The reality is, we lose more people and we have more property damage from traffic accidents than anything else and traffic safety is a big part of public safety," said Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan.
More than 100 law enforcement officers from across the state were honored.
