TULSA, Oklahoma – Dominique Morrison and the ORU Golden Eagles continued to roll with a 77-67 victory over the UMKC Kangaroos on Saturday night at the Mabee Center.
The win is ORU's 13th consecutive and it kept them undefeated at 12-0 in league play (20-4 overall). The Golden Eagles have reached 20 wins for the sixth time under Scott Sutton and the 18th time in school history.
Morrison went 10-of-14 from the field and registered a game-high 28 points.
Roderick Pearson added 13 points, Michael Craion had 11 and Damen Bell-Holter had seven points to go with 10 rebounds.
ORU was deadly accurate shooting the ball, including 60 percent as a team and 71 percent from 3-point range.
But the Golden Eagles also turned the ball over 17 times and Sutton said he was disappointed overall in how his team played.
"I didn't have these guys ready to play tonight," he said. "The guys weren't focused and I thought it showed tonight as they guys were sloppy and certainly didn't play with a sense of urgency tonight.
"I'm happy we won and happy we got our 20th win but I told our guys that I want more than that. I want to try to get to 30 wins, I want to go to the NCAA tournament and I want to try to win a game in the NCAA tournament."
The Golden Eagles have won 19 straight conference games, one shy of the all-time Summit League record set by Oakland.
ORU will seek to tie that record with a road game against South Dakota State on Thursday at 7 p.m.
