STILLWATER, Oklahoma – OSU big man Philip Jurick suffered a left foot injury in practice on Friday in College Station, Texas and is unlikely to suit up against the Aggies, coach Travis Ford said.
Ford said Jurick's foot isn't broken, but they do not know much about the extent of the injury beyond that.
"He had it x-rayed and it came back OK but he still is in very, very much pain and can't walk so he's going to be out, I think, for a while," Ford said. "I'm not the doctor or the trainer and they really don't know at this point."
Jurick played 24 minutes and scored six points to go with eight rebounds in the Cowboys' 79-72 upset win over No. 2 Missouri on Wednesday.
He has been averaging 2.1 points and 5.8 boards per game so far this season.
If Jurick misses time with the injury, the Cowboys will have seven active scholarship players on the roster. The departures of guards Fred Gulley and Reger Dowell and the loss of guard Jean-Paul Olukemi to a torn ACL have diminished the OSU roster.
News On 6's John Holcomb is in College Station traveling with the team and talked to Ford about the specifics of the injury as well as how to get his team focused after their big win against the Tigers.
