Suspended Tulsa Teacher Charged With Second Degree Rape

Court documents show a Tulsa Public School teacher at Central High School has been charged with three counts of second-degree rape for having sex with a student. 

Tulsa Police say 41-year-old Maurice Parker had sex with the 18-year-old student at his home three different times.

Under Oklahoma law, it is considered statutory rape between a teacher and student, even if the student is above the age of consent. 

Tulsa Police arrested Parker earlier this month.  He has since bonded out of jail. 

Maurice Parker has taught in Tulsa Public Schools since 1997.  He has been suspended with pay, pending a termination hearing.
