The University of Tulsa men's basketball team won its third straight game with a 60-56 victory over Tulane Wednesday night.
Jordan Clarkson paced TU with a game-high 16 points while the team managed 41 percent shooting from the field.
TU found itself trailing at the break 32-25 despite leading for much of the game.
A layup from Scottie Haralson ended Tulane's run and cut the lead to six, but the Green Wave was able to stay on top and take a 32-25 margin into half time.
Tulsa senior Steven Idlet came off the bench and greatly helped the Golden Hurricane get going in the second half after falling further behind.
The Golden Hurricane caught fire and went on a 26-8 run that spanned 10 minutes in the second half to take a 54-44 lead.
Tulane was able to narrow the gap in the remaining 5:35, but free throws late from Clarkson, Idlet and Haralson sealed the 60-56 win for TU.
Idlet tallied 14 points, six rebounds and five blocks in 28 minutes of game time.
TU also tied a season high with 12 blocks, led by five each from Idlet and sophomore forward Kodi Maduka. Maduka also scored seven points and hauled in five rebounds. Haralson added 12 points in the Tulsa victory.
Tulsa (10-9, 3-2 C-USA), got the win despite shooting on 24 percent in the second half of play.
Tulane (12-6, 0-4 C-USA) was led by Ricky Tarrant's 15 points and the The Green Wave knocked down 7-of-15 three-pointers and hit 11-of-14 free throws on the night.
Tulsa travels to Houston Saturday, Jan. 21 to face Rice at 7 p.m.
