An east Tulsa home located across the street from a fire station was damaged by fire early Sunday morning. Family members escaped injury but lost a pet dog in the fire.

The house fire in the 1500 block of South 75th East Avenue was called in at 3:19 a.m.

"We could see the actual glow of the flames and smoke from the station when we were leaving," said District Chief Mike Graves of the Tulsa Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke pouring from the garage area of the house. They had the fire under control within 10 minutes, Graves said.

"The fire was confined to the garage area and a portion of the attic," he said.

All residents made it out of the structure, but the family lost one of two dogs, the second dog surviving.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
