The first casino slated to go up in Broken Arrow may not be legal, because the land may not be eligible for gaming.
The Kialegee Tribal Town is already clearing land for the casino at 111th and 129th East Avenue. The tribe plans to open a temporary facility at the site next March. The permanent casino would open in 2013.
Nearby residents are opposed to the casino, fearing it will bring more traffic and crime to the area.
The National Indian Gaming Commission is still determining whether to give the tribe the go-ahead.
