A Broken Arrow family just received what they consider their best gift ever. It arrived just after two boys told Santa what they wanted most this year.
A lot of soldiers are coming home right now and their families are waiting. Some wait at the airport… Some wait at Bass Pro Shops.
A long line of people waited in front of Santa's workshop at Bass Pro in Broken Arrow. The elves were busy getting pictures and Santa heard lots of Christmas wishes.
And though most people were waiting just for him, one family was waiting for someone else. Ten-year-old Jordan and his 8-year-old brother Chase waited to tell Santa what they really wanted.
Jordan and Chase are just 2 of the many children with parents in the military who hope their fathers and mothers will be home soon from Afghanistan or Iraq.
For these two, Santa had a nice surprise. Santa got up and opened the door behind him to reveal Specialist Roy Hill.
Specialist Hill landed only two hours before Santa's surprise, after 7 months in Afghanistan with the 45th Infantry.
"Actually it was all Santa. He showed up in Afghanistan, talked to my chain command and they said alright, put me on leave," Hill said.
It's going to be a short stay, just two weeks, and then it's back to the war. But he'll go back with the memory of what it's like for a 10-year-old boy to hug his father and not want to let go.
"I told him he was coming up here to see Santa and he said I want my Daddy," said Amanda Hill, soldier's wife. "He wanted his Dad home for Christmas."
The whole family got what they wanted and it's not even Christmas Eve.
