Heavy Rain Factor In Deadly Collision In Pawnee County

An Enid man was killed after losing control of his car in heavy rain.

It happened on the Cimarron Turnpike in Pawnee County just after 11 a.m. Saturday. Kelly Patterson, 46, died of his injuries in a Tulsa hospital Sunday.

Troopers say Patterson was traveling westbound when he lost control of his 2008 Honda, crossed the median and slammed into an oncoming car.

Two other passengers in Patterson's car were treated and released from a Tulsa hospital. Three people in the other car sustained only minor injuries.

Troopers say Patterson was driving too fast for conditions.
