Oklahoma Official Testifies In Washington On Hydraulic Fracturing

Oklahoma Corporation Commission chairperson Dana Murphy is in Washington Wednesday testifying before the U.S. House Subcommittee on Water Resources & Environment.

The subject; state regulation of hydraulic fracturing.

Murphy joined officials from the EPA and Ohio and Pennsylvania in addressing the subcommittee.

The EPA announced that it plans to look into implementing additional regulations for hydraulic fracturing wastewater under the Clean Water Act.

Representative Bob Gibbs of Ohio, the chairman of the subcommittee, says it's hearing testimony from federal, state and industry representatives to ensure any future regulations the EPA develops are reasonable.
