Retired Tulsa Educator Honored With GM Green Award

A retired Tulsa Public School employee has been honored by Earth Force and the General Motors Foundation with their Chevrolet GREEN Educator Award.

A retired Tulsa Public School employee has been honored by Earth Force and the General Motors Foundation with their Chevrolet GREEN Educator Award.

Leslie Pace, who now has his own consulting firm in Wagoner, Pace Applied Technologies was honored for redesigning the school district's lighting system reducing the annual electrical energy cost by $1.2 million.

He continues to work with various school districts and students in environmental education.

"We are excited to join Earth Force in honoring Mr. Pace for his amazing work fostering the next generation of leaders," said Vivian Pickard, President of the GM Foundation. "Educators like Mr. Pace represent the very best of our educational system, and we are proud to join them in engaging America's youth as leaders."

In a news release, officials say Pace has helped Oklahoma City and Tulsa Public Schools with energy audits saving both districts thousands of dollars.
