Some of Oklahoma's Own are giving back to the city of Tulsa in these difficult economic times.

The first ever "For the City" event took place Saturday at "The Crossing" Church in Bixby. Folks got haircuts, oil changes, car washes, and food and all of it for free.

"People are having difficult times, and have real needs that need to be met, and we're just doing what we can to meet those needs," said Jeff Henson, pastor at "The Crossing."

Between 80 and 90 volunteers spread out in the community Saturday. Henson hopes to build upon Saturday's event, as other community churches get involved in the future.

According to its official website, "The Crossing" is a nondenominational Christian church.
