TU Uniforms To Honor 1942 Season

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will wear throwback uniforms in its matchup against the Marshall Thundering Herd Saturday in order to pay tribute to the 1942 Tulsa football team.

TU will wear gold helmets with a red "T" on the front, similar to the logo on the helmets of the 1942 squad. In addition, the Golden Hurricane will sport red jerseys and gold pants to match the uniform choice.

In 1942, the Golden Hurricane had a shot at a National Championship after a 10-0 season, during which they topped Oklahoma, Oklahoma A&M and Arkansas on its way to a Sugar Bowl invite to play against Tennessee.

The Golden Hurricane lost to Volunteers on a late-game touchdown.
