STILWELL, Oklahoma – Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have arrested a Stilwell, Oklahoma man in connection with a homicide that happened on September 26.

According to the OSBI, 50-year-old Lonnie George Wheeler was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for First-Degree murder and First-Degree arson.
Investigators said firefighters responded to a house fire at 215 West Elm Street in Stilwell on September 26. When they arrived, emergency crews discovered a body, which was later identified as 42-year-old David Davenport. The medical examiner's office determined that Davenport died of multiple stab wounds.
According to the OSBI, Wheeler was living at the home where the murder took place. Several people were drinking at the home the afternoon of the homicide. Investigators said a physical altercation took place before Davenport was stabbed to death.
Wheeler was booked in to the Adair County Jail.
