TULSA, OkLAHOMA -- There are now dozens more safe places around Tulsa.

As a part of the National Safe Place Program, EMSA ambulances will become a safe haven for kids across Green Country.

Safe Place is a community outreach program that provides easy access for young people in dangerous or vulnerable situations.

The recognizable yellow sign can be seen at 150 safe zones locally, but the impact it is has reaches far beyond Oklahoma.

"If you're watching you'll find these signs, and kids that are out on the street, some of them that are homeless and traveling, can still find us if they haven't been in Tulsa before," said Jim Walker, Executive Director Youth Services.

Walker says this partnership will provide easier access to safe points. Just last year Youth Services volunteers responded to over 500 call just in the Tulsa area.
