TULSA, Oklahoma -- The man accused of shooting and killing two people near the QuikTrip at 71st and Riverside was formally charged Tuesday.
Zane Atchison, 24, was charged with two counts of 1st degree murder for the shooting deaths of 27-year-old Patrick Shawn and 24-year-old Kaylyn Kosofsky. He is also charged with stealing a car and eluding police.
The double shooting happened the evening of August 30, 2011. Police say the suspect shot both victims as they sat in their car waiting for Atchison to arrive. He then threw Shawn out and stole the car with Kosofsky dead in the seat next to him.
Atchison was captured by police the next day after he stole a truck. Police say the victims knew Atchison, and all three were involved in the narcotics world.
