Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Green Country

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several Green Country counties Sunday evening.

"A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. for most of eastern Oklahoma, excluding Tulsa County proper," said News On 6 meteorologist Mike Grogan.

The watch includes 19 counties.

"A cold front, combined with a warm and moist air mass is setting off widespread thunderstorms, some of which may produce large hail and damaging winds," Grogan said. "The threat will end throughout the afternoon and evening from west to east."

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect until 5:30 p.m. for a few counties including Muskogee, Haskell and Okmulgee.

Some locations in or near the path of the storm include Haskell, Coweta, Taft, Porter, Tullahassee, Wagoner, Muskogee, Okay, Fort Gibson and Hulbert.
