TULSA, Oklahoma -- There's a great deal to be learned from a three legged dog.
Marty Newman has two dogs, Asphalt and Jude. Asphalt had been hit by a motorcycle.
"I sort of scooped him up off the highway," Marty said.
That was more than 11 years ago. Except for losing one front leg, he's been a happy healthy three legged dog ever since.
"It's a lot easier to pick up and cuddle a 3 legged dog 'cause you've got a leg that's not in the way," Marty said. "There's nothing wrong with that dog."
In fact, he's able to do his business from either side.
"Yeah, he's ambi-peetrus," Marty said.
Asphalt has a very lively spirit.
"Asphalt has no knowledge that he's inferior in any way, so there's no embarrassment, not shame ever," Marty said.
This little dog has lived long and happily ignoring his missing leg. It's a difference not a disability.
