NORMAN, Oklahoma – The country has been hyped up for this weekend's OU – Florida State game since the beginning of the season, and it's not hard to see why.
It's a battle of top five teams on a national stage with plenty of storylines to go around.
But that doesn't mean the Sooners are treating it differently than any other game.
OU comes into the game as a three-point favorite, but several other stats seem to be stacked against the Sooners.
Oklahoma is 3-8 in its past 11 road games against Top 10 teams and lost at Missouri last season while ranked No. 1.
Just as any focused team would tell you, OU is not letting history, numbers or other hype get in the way of their preparation for the game.
Offensive lineman Lane Johnson said the OU coaches do a great job of keeping the team focused on each week's game.
"You've got to take it day by day, rep by rep and play by play and not worry about all the stuff you can't control," Johnson said. "That's our mindset."
