CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma – Crews recovered the body of a Bixby, Oklahoma man who drowned on Keystone Lake Monday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Adam Gibson's body was recovered at 8:32 a.m. Monday, near the south bank of Houseboat Island in Creek County. He was located in 20 foot of water.
According to the accident report, at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Gibson was on the south side of Houseboat Island, near Salt Creek on Keystone Lake, when he noticed his boat had started drifting away from the shore.
According to witnesses at the scene, Gibson then started swimming to the southwest side to try to retrieve the boat, that's when he was heard calling for help.
Witnesses say they had attempted to locate Gibson. However, they did not find him.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol was then called to the scene. However, initial search for Gibson that evening was not successful. Troopers resumed the search Monday morning and recovered Gibson's body.
