We are less than a month from the 15th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Lots of folks have signed up to participate and you can too! If you have a Sunday school class, bunco group, softball team or any group of people, bring the team together to be a part of this great day! Last year, more than twelve thousand people came out to help in the fight against breast cancer.
This year's race is moving to ONEOK Field. Won't that be fun? We'll walk (or run for you serious folks) through downtown Tulsa, near the Brady District, the BOK Center and back to the baseball field.
While breast cancer may not have affected your life directly, I bet you know someone who's been diagnosed. (You know me, right?) This annual race is the major fundraiser of the Tulsa Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This local organization grants money each year to local programs that provide direct services to breast cancer patients in Tulsa County. Seventy-five cents out of every dollar raised stays right here in Tulsa! That's a great return on your investment!
I hope you consider joining us on race day, September 17th!
