Confessed Serial Killer Wanted In Tulsa Woman's Disappearance Arrested

TULSA, Oklahoma – A self-proclaimed serial killer wanted in connection with the disappearance and possible murder of a Tulsa woman is behind bars in Mississippi, Tulsa Police said Wednesday.

Charles Krauss, also known as Tim Foster, was arrested on August 6, 2011, in Pearl, Mississippi for driving a stolen vehicle.

According to Tulsa Police, Krauss admitted to killing several women since the late 1980s, including a Tulsa woman named "Nikki" on August 2, 2011.

"There was enough there to say, he's doing something. But whether he's actually killing people or just looking for attention we don't know yet," Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker said.

Tulsa Police said Krauss told Mississippi authorities he first met "Nikki" at the Quiktrip on 71st street between Memorial and Mingo about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011.

He described the woman as a petite blonde with crooked teeth, wearing a white halter top and blue jeans.

"We don't necessarily have a missing person that fits that description. Blonde, petite female with crooked teeth. So that's what we're out trying to find out," Walker said.

Krauss told officers he had sex with "Nikki" and agreed to meet her at the same Quiktrip about 9 p.m. the next night, on August 2, 2011.

The next morning, Krauss told police he went to Lowes and bought a rope and 50 gallon garbage bags and then went to an area near 65th and Riverside to dig a hole about three feet deep.

Krauss told officers he then went to work out at the Gold's Gym on Memorial and went to see the movie Thor at a nearby Dollar Theatre.

After that, he said he went back to the Quiktrip, where he picked up "Nikki" about 9 p.m. and strangled her to death and buried her body.

According to police, after strangling the woman, Krauss said he broke into a white 2001 Chevy Z-71 pickup truck at an apartment complex on Memorial between 81st street and 91st street, where he spent the night. He also admitted to stealing tools from the truck, police said.

Tulsa Police said surveillance video captured Krauss at the Cash America Pawn located near 11th and Memorial on Wednesday, August 3, 2011.

He was arrested in the stolen truck just three days later in Pearl, Mississippi.

Tulsa Police have confirmed that Krauss visited a series of Tulsa pawn shops on the days he said he was in town. Krauss told Mississippi police he'd also killed two Tulsa women, back in the 1980s.

"If it is true, maybe he got remorseful. Or he wasn't getting enough attention and now it's time for him to get credit for whatever he's done," Walker said.

Charles Krauss also told investigators he killed a woman in Knoxville, Tennessee. A Mississippi television station is reporting Krauss recanted his confession, a day after giving it.

Tulsa Police are trying to verify his story.
