TULSA, Oklahoma -- In the finale of the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Week, the West Squad built a big lead early and held off a push from the East to take a 21-19 win in the All-State football game.
Kingfisher quarterback Derek Patterson put on a show before heading to play for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the fall. In the first quarter, Patterson connected with Lawton's Daequan Wojeciechowski for a 59-yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.
Up 14-12 in the third quarter, Patterson connected with Zac Hibbard for a 48 yard bomb to set up a three-yard touchdown run to take a 21-12 advantage.
Spiro's Clayton Michem connected with Joe Lindsey for the second time in the game, a 47-yard touchdown pass to pull the East to a 21-19 deficit. However, the East's comeback attempt ended on a diving interception by Douglass' Marcus Cadell.
