MUSTANG - Clayton Blackburn produced from both the mound and the batter's box.
After giving up two early runs via fielder's choice, Blackburn shut down the Broncos and the Edmond Santa Fe offense exploded with 12 hits, leading to an 11-2 victory over Mustang.
"We're real happy," Santa Fe coach Lonny Cobble said. "Coming off the Broken Arrow tournament we didn't swing the bats very well. Today we had 12 hits and Clayton did a good job on the mound."
Blackburn, an OU commitment, made up for his early-inning struggles by hitting a two-run double to break a 2-2 tie in the third inning. The win moves Edmond Santa Fe to 9-4 on the season and maintains its top-5 ranking in the state.
"We play like we did today, we can be as good as anybody," Blackburn said.
