Fort Gibson Caps Undefeated Season with Win over Cache
The Lady Tigers won an overtime thriller over the Lady Bulldogs to win their first Gold Ball.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- After a pair of Cache made free throws sent the game to overtime, the Ft. Gibson won its first Gold Ball on a pair of Cache misses in overtime to top the Lady Bulldogs 52-51.
With just 30 seconds left in the fourth and trailing by one, Fort Gibson junior Jodi Glover drove to the basket, scored and was fouled. She converted on her attempt to take a 49047 lead.
Cache had one more chance in regulation and went to senior Honor Duvall underneath like they had all game. The post was fouled and scored her 15th and 16th points of the contest to send the game into overtime.
In the opening moments of the extra period, Fort Gibson senior Nana Wallace caught the entry pass and scored underneath the basket to take 51-49 lead. Cache came away empty-handed on two possessions, but on the third senior Jennifer Rosado converted on two free throws to tie the game 51-51 with just 90 seconds left to play.
Fort Gibson’s Savannah Gray grabbed an offensive board and was fouled by Duvall, ending her day with two minutes left to play.
The freshman guard missed her first try, but after the timeout knocked down the second to take a one-point lead.
On the Lady Bulldogs’ final possession, Rosado gathered a rebound and was fouled on the way back up with just .1 second left to play. She was unable to convert on either, sealing the Lady Bulldogs’ fate.
Wallace finished with a game-high 23 points in her final game for Fort Gibson, while Glover added 20, nine coming from three-point range.
Duvall set the pace for Cache with 16 points, Rosado contributing 10 and senior Brettin Sanders scoring eight.
The Lady Tigers finish the season undefeated and claim their state championship after losing in the state championship in four of the last six games.
Cache finishes the season 24-4, sending seven seniors off with a Silver Ball to hoist.
