Tecumseh Dominates Fourth Quarter to Advace to Semis

Tecumseh and Locust Grove played close for much of the game, but the Savages pulled away in the final frame.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Tecumseh used a balanced scoring attack to advance to the 4A State semifinals, defeating Locust Grove 72-57 Thursday.

Four Tecumseh players scored in double figures; Alan Brewer led the Savages with 18, Francisco Hukill scored 17, and Kevin Hill and Julio Hukill added 15 and 14 respectively.

Tecumseh trailed 22-15 after the first quarter, but took a 32-31 lead with less than a minute left in the first half. Then Locust Grove's Cale Fine hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer that gave the Pirates a 34-32 halftime lead.

After a close third quarter, Tecumseh led 46-43 at the beginning of the 4th.

Tecumseh then began to pull away in the final period, outscoring Locust Grove 26-14 in the fourth quarter, thanks to a 12 point scoring outburst by Alan Brewer in the 4th.

Locust Grove was led by Pud Ross, who scored 17. Fine finished with 14 and Adrian Houser added 11.

Locust Grove finished the season with a 21-4 record.

Tecumseh will face Bridge Creek in the 4A State Semifinals at 9:00 a.m. at the Big House.
