CATOOSA, Okla. – In a 5A elimination game in Catoosa on Friday night, the Oklahoma City Southeast Spartans prevailed over the Coweta Tigers 49-40.

The entire game was a battle, with Coweta having to constantly battle back from deficits. They were down 9-3 early, but tied the game at 11 midway through the first quarter. By halftime, the Spartans held a slim 24-20 lead.

In the third quarter, Southeast was able to build a 33-22 lead, but the Tigers came storming back. By the middle of the fourth quarter, behind a virtual home crowd, Coweta had pulled to within 2 points of the Spartans. Southeast, however, was too strong down the stretch, earning the nine point victory.

With the win, Southeast will play Tulsa Memorial on Saturday at Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa. Coweta is eliminated from the playoffs.
