OKLAHOMA CITY – In a game that was neck-and-neck through all four quarters, the deciding factor came at the charity line, as Ft. Cobb-Broxton sank a series of free throws to take the 43-38 win over the Hydro-Eakly Bobcats.
The Mustangs move on to the championship game after battling it out against a very physical Bobcat squad. Ft. Cobb-Broxton kept up the scrappy play, managing to muscle ahead of Hydro-Eakly in the final three minutes of the game.
A set of 3’s by Bobcat Travis Myers put his team back in contention, but foul trouble allowed the Mustangs to pull ahead for the win. Myers ended with 16 points after landing five 3’s throughout the game. Teammate Cody Dooley ended with 11 points for the Bobcats.
The Mustangs’ Byran Lewis finished with 11 points, while teammates Nathan Beene and Gavan Steinmeitz both contributed nine points apiece.
Ft. Cobb will play for their third state title Saturday at 3 p.m., having claimed the Gold Ball in 2000 and 2005.
