Beaver Advances with Tight Win against Copan

ENID, Okla. -- After missing the state tournament in 2010, the Beaver Lady Dusters punched their ticket to the Big House thanks to a 45-39 win over Copan.

Beaver led 23-18 at half, but with 2:53 in the 3rd quarter, Copan took a 31-29 lead. Beaver answered right back with two free throws and led the rest of the way.

Erin Becker led the Lady Dusters with 15 and Anna McDonald added 11.

Hayley Bryan led the Lady Hornets with 15 and Kristen Chinn scored 12.

It is the 3rd time in four years Beaver has made the state tournament, and it will be their 13th appearance overall.

Copan will play Seiling on Saturday at 6:30 for the Area Consolation back at the Chisolm Trail Expo Center. It is a rematch of the Regional Championship played just one week ago, with Copan walking away with a 41-36 win.
