Tulsa Public Schools announced Sunday evening that Seals has been suspended from his teaching and coaching duties until further notice.
Coach Seals took over as head coach at Booker T. Washington in 2007 and led the Hornets to the class 5A state title last year.
Earlier this season the Hornets won the Tournament of Champions and the No. 1 ranked, unbeaten squad was scheduled to compete in the Jenks/Union Invitational this past weekend, but snow and ice shut area schools down Thursday and Friday and the tournament was cancelled.
Seals played basketball at McLain High School in Tulsa and went on to play college basketball at the University of Tulsa. He is scheduled to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in less than two weeks.
Jail records say Seals’ court date is scheduled for Jan. 31, and Oklahoma Sports will bring you more information as it becomes available.
