BETHANY, Oklahoma – With one full game of sturdy defense, the Bethany Bronchos halted both Cascia Hall’s offense and its dreams of a fourth-straight state championship.

The Bronchos held the Commandos at bay in a 9-7 victory on Friday in Bethany.

Bethany managed a touchdown with five minutes to go in the first quarter to jump out to an early 7-0 lead.

The Bronchos also managed a safety in the first, which proved to be the difference in the game.

The Commandos managed their only score in the third quarter, but it was not enough as their title hopes ended, as well as an 11-game winning streak.

Bethany lost its final two regular season games but has now won three straight to advance in the playoffs. It will take on Heritage Hall next weekend in the state semifinals.
