Quarterfinal play is upon Class 2A and with four big games happening Friday there’s a lot on the line to move into the semifinals.
Below is some insight into two must see games this week on the road to the gold ball.
Davis vs. Lincoln Christian The Davis Wolves made it through the first two rounds of the playoffs and boast a 10-1 record thus far. The Wolves are averaging 42.3 points per contest with 47.3 passing yards and 330.8 rushing yards a game.
The Lincoln Christian Bulldogs are the defending state champions and are 10-2 on the season. So far they have rolled over their first two playoff opponents. Averaging 161.7 passing yards and 223.2 rushing yards with 39 points per game the Bulldogs will be ready for the battle.
The Bulldogs have been a bit better balancing their rushing and passing which could really work to their advantage, along with the fact that they have home field advantage.
Stroud vs. Millwood The Tigers of Stroud slipped past their round two opponent by three points to move on to quarterfinal play. The 11-1 Tigers will have their hands full with the undefeated 12-0 Millwood Falcons.
Millwood averages an impressive 50.3 points per game with 264.3 yard through the air and 275 on the ground, making them a force in all phases of the game.
Although I think Millwood has this game, I think Stroud’s desire and drive to advance will fuel the Tigers in a big way.
Millwood has home field advantage, but Stroud continues to battle through the playoffs this year and cannot be counted out.
