The Okeene Whippets (9-1) face off against the Oklahoma Bible Academy Trojans (8-2). The Whippets only loss came at the hands of Cashion, while the Trojans’ two losses came against Beaver and Thomas-Fay-Custer. While many of the matchups are lopsided in the first round of playoffs, this one is pretty evenly matched. Both teams are coming off strong finishes on their seasons, but Okeene may have the upper hand, hosting the first round matchup.
The Elmore City-Pernell Badgers play host to the Central-Sallisaw Tigers in the first round. The Badgers have just one loss this season, while the Tigers have two -- including a late-season loss in week nine. That may be just enough fire under them to blaze a path past Elmore City-Pernell, but the Badgers are playing in front of a home crowd.
The Quinton Savages have two losses this season, one coming in week nine to Central Sallisaw. The Savages came back in the final week to beat Savanna and are definitely going to look to make it to round two. The Stratford Bulldogs are also coming off a late-season, week eight loss. Their offense has proven to be a threat this season, shutting out opponents in two games and earning big margins of victory. They played in four away games this season, and their fifth will come with the highest stakes.
The Beaver Dusters (9-1) play host to the Crescent Tigers (7-3) in round one. While many would assume the Dusters have an upper hand, don’t count out the Tigers. Crescent has three big late-season wins in the final weeks of the regular season. They’ve definitely hit their stride, averaging over 43 point margins in their last three matchups. Their offense will have to come out full throttle in the first round when they travel to Beaver.
