YUKON, Oklahoma – The Edmond Memorial Bulldogs had their backs against the wall early, but mounted a second-half comeback to beat the Yukon Millers 38-21 Friday and earn a spot in the playoffs.
The Bulldogs (7-3, 4-3) scored the game’s first touchdown to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but could not hold onto it. The Millers (8-2, 5-2) went on a 21-point run to take the lead and carried a 21-14 lead into halftime.
Edmond Memorial stormed out of the gate in the second half and didn’t look back. The Bulldogs scored a total of 31 consecutive points to retake the lead and seal the win.
Memorial finished the regular season with the No. 4 seed and will face undefeated Lawton in the first round of the playoffs at 7:30 p.m. next Friday. Despite the loss, the Millers still finished second in district and will host Edmond North.
