CLAREMORE, Oklahoma – The Metro Christian Patriots continued to rack up points Thursday in a 52-30 victory over the Verdigris Cardinals.
The Patriots (5-3, 3-1) have now scored 40 or more points in five consecutive games, one of which ended in a loss. Since starting the season slow, Metro Christian has been on fire of late and has put itself in prime position for a playoff berth.
The loss was the first in district play for Verdigris (6-2, 4-1) and ended a six-game winning streak. The Cardinals are now tied for first in the district with Sequoyah-Tahlequah, but hold the tiebreaker after beating the Indians earlier in the season.
Metro Christian will move to face Inola (4-4, 2-2) next week, while Verdigris will play Kellyville (3-5, 2-3).
