Grove Slips Past Claremore
The Ridgerunners picked off the Zebras in the fourth quarter to slide by with a one point victory.

CLAREMORE, Oklahoma—The Grove Ridgerunners outlasted Claremore 14-13 thanks to a fourth quarter interception.
Claremore (3-5, 2-3) got out to a quick start, scoring on their first play from the line of scrimmage as running back Chris Szcinski put them on the board with a 94 yard touchdown run.
Grove (6-2, 4-1) later blocked a punt to set up a 2-yard touchdown play by senior Trent Phillips tying the game at seven.
In the third, Claremore (3-5, 2-3) scored on a 17-yard pass from Matt Whatley to Jake Mason putting the Zebras up 13-7.
Later in the fourth Phillips also intercepted a pass for Grove and returned it for a 50-yard touchdown run which sealed the deal for the Ridgerunners.
Week nine will feature Grove hosting East Central while Claremore travels to Tahlequah.
