CATOOSA, Oklahoma – In one of the most exciting games of Week 6, the Oologah Mustangs pulled out a 35-34 over the Catoosa Indians Friday.
The two teams went back and forth throughout the game, with both teams consistently responding to the other. Despite the high-scoring shootout, neither team led by more than seven points all night.
In the end, the game came down to a missed extra point. With the score tied at 28, Catoosa (5-1, 2-1) scored a touchdown to take the lead. But the Indians missed the point after attempt and the lead remained at six.
The Mustangs responded with a long touchdown pass on the ensuing drive and made their extra point to take the lead at the end of the third quarter. Neither team scored in the final frame, and Oologah hung on to stay undefeated.
Catoosa will try to recover from its first loss of the season next week against Jay (1-5, 0-3), while Oologah will face another undefeated team in Wagoner (6-0, 3-0).
